Baccarat
In Baccarat, the player has the option to bet on the Banker, Player or a Tie (an equal score on both hands). The highest possible hand value in Baccarat is nine points, so the object of the game is to have the total hand value closest to nine points.
After you make your bet, the Banker and Player will receive two cards each. The Ace is worth one point and numbered cards (2-9) are worth their face value. Tens and face cards (Jacks, Queens and Kings) have no value (value = 0). The values of the two cards are added together, but only the last digit of the total counts as the hand value.
An Example:
The Player receives an eight (8) and a four (4). The total of those two cards equals twelve (8 + 4 = 12). Only the last digit counts, so the value of the Player’s hand is two (2).
Another Example:
The Banker receives a ten (0) and a King (0). Both cards have a value of zero (0 + 0 = 0). So, the value of the Banker’s hand is zero (0).
A "Natural" occurs when the total of either the Banker or Player’s first two cards equals 8 or 9. No more cards will be dealt after this point.
If the Player’s total hand is 5 or lower, the Player will receive a third card.
If the value of the Player’s hand is 6 or higher and the Banker’s hand is worth 5 or lower, the Banker will get a third card.
If the Player draws a third card and the Banker’s hand is worth 2 or less, the Banker will also get a third card.
If the Player draws a third card and the Banker’s hand is worth 3, the Banker gets a third card unless the Player’s hand equals 8.
If the Player draws a third card and the Banker’s hand is worth 4, the Banker gets a third card unless the Player’s hand equals 0, 1, 8 or 9.
If the Player draws a third card and the Banker’s hand is worth 5, the Banker gets a third card if the Player’s hand equals 4, 5, 6 or 7.
If the Player draws a third card and the Banker’s hand is worth 6, the Banker gets a third card if the Player’s hand equals 6 or 7.
If the Player draws a third card and the Banker’s hand is worth 7, the Banker never gets a third card.
